Proggya Roy is a young change maker, writer, and student from Dinajpur, Bangladesh, currently studying in Grade 9 at Dinajpur Laboratory School (English Version). Known for her curiosity, discipline, and compassion, she has consistently maintained outstanding academic results while actively engaging in social and leadership activities.
Motivated by a strong belief in equality and human dignity, Proggya founded A Land of Disparity — a youth-led initiative and website (www.disparityland.comthat highlights social injustice and advocates for women’s and children’s rights in Bangladesh. Through her writing, she brings real stories and thoughtful insights to inspire awareness and empathy among young readers.
Her passion for social impact also led her to join the World Youth Alliance (WYA) in 2023, where she participated in seminars on human rights and ethical leadership and attended the 13th Emerging Leaders Conference (ELC 2024). In 2025, she further developed her global outlook through the UWC ISAK Japan Summer School, a transformative 14-day international program focused on leadership, diversity, and community service.
Within her school, Proggya is an active member of the Debate Club, participates in science fairs, and volunteers in community awareness campaigns — from health and environment drives to educational advocacy. These experiences have nurtured her empathy, communication skills, and dedication to service.
Academically, Proggya aspires to pursue the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and later continue her studies in social sciences, human rights, or global development. Her goal is to contribute to reducing disparities faced by women and children in Bangladesh and around the world.
Beyond her academic and leadership work, she enjoys reading about human rights and culture, watching thought-provoking films, and exploring creative projects. Fluent in Bengali and proficient in English, Proggya values learning as a lifelong journey — one that combines intellect, compassion, and action to make a positive difference in the world.
At just 14 years old, she stands as a symbol of youth empowerment and purposeful leadership — using her voice to bridge divides and inspire change.
